GUESS WHO!

Hello beautiful ones,

Oh well.....where do I start?
I know I have been MIA (that's an understatement), but what was a girl to do?!
To cut the long story short, life happened
Youth service and then a job, countless notes to self to resume blogging but never actually going through with it, interviews, couple of makeup jobs on the side which I never really took seriously.....the list is endless!

I can't however assure you that I'm back for good but I can assure you that I will do my utmost best to stick around and not bore you guys to death.😁

Having rendered some sort of apology, I hope y'all are doing better than I am and things haven't been as crazy for you.
I got a couple of mails from people asking why I stopped blogging. Thanks to everyone who checked up on me. I am truly grateful.

OK I guess I'm done ranting...I hope you all get to learn a couple of things from what I have to share. Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or concerns whatsoever regarding makeup, skincare or fashion and I will do my best to respond.

Stay Beautiful..xx

HOW I HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR MY FACE

Hey beautiful people!!!...today we slay highlighting and contouring!!

This is the rave of the makeup world right now! Gone are the days when we just apply one colour of foundation and powder and strut off..lol. Ehn ehn!!it ain't that easy no more!

Highlighting and contouring gives you that 'magazine cover' look, that radiant sculpted look we love.

So........what exactly do we mean by highlighting and contouring?......

Just as the name implies, highlighting is a makeup technique that enhances and draws attention to some particular parts of the face. This is achieved by applying a foundation or concealer two or three shades lighter than your skin tone.
Contouring is the exact opposite and is achieved by applying foundation, concealer or powder that is two shades darker than your skin tone to parts of your face you would like to recede or sculpt or make seem more structured. Contouring with powder is the easiest method and should be easy for beginners which is what I did in these pictures.
There are various contour kits out there but I use the Sleek contour kit. It comes in 3 shades; light, medium and dark so you have to find the shade that best suits you. The same goes for other contour kits.

Having given this lecture, you can now check the pictures below to see the areas I highlighted and contoured and see the finished product.
Everything done here was subtle. You can however choose to make yours more dramatic!...Enjoy!

Hope this was helpful!! As usual I'll say if you have any questions, you know what to do....

PRODUCT REVIEW; SANTEE PLUS LIP LINER PENCIL

Hey beautiful people.. A very splendid new year to you all. I'm so sorry I haven't wished my readers that. I'm also sorry I've been slacking a bit with the posts. I just got a little lazy and my laptop has major issues. I promise to be better though.

A few weeks ago I was at Adeniran Ogunsanya shopping mall with a friend and I decided to do a lil makeup shopping, just a lil!
Anyway I came across this brand and before then I'd never heard of it. The owner of the store assured me it was worth a try and I swatched a sample on my wrist. The pigmentation wasn't bad at all so I decided to give it a try.
I wish I had paid attention to the name of the store but I didn't. ..SORRY! but it's close to Debonnairs and Cold Stone creamery. It won't hurt to check the place out, I got some pretty nice stuff from there. I got this pencil for 800 naira I think! (Shouldn't be more than that). She had like a gazillion shades  but I got just this shade;violet red just for a trial.

WHAT SANTEE PLUS SAYS;

Natural smooth looking pencil

Or something of the sort...lol, but I swear that is all. Like seriously!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT I THINK;

I think they were way too modest with the product description! The pigmentation of this pencil can actually be compared to Zaron lip liners (and we all know how bad ass Zaron pencils are...if you don't,now ya do!). It's not creamy like the Zaron pencils though, this baby has a matte finish. I happen to be a fan of any matte stuff cos I'm a greasy baby!
I love the pencil and when I wear this shade with my Revlon berry haute lipstick, the result is divine!
I most definitely will be repurchasing and you should try it out too..

Hope this review was helpful. Feel free to ask any questions. Mwuah!!

UNDERRATED BEAUTILITIES; OATMEAL

Hey beautiful people!!! Compliments of the season!! I haven't wished my readers that... As we move into the new year, I wish you all the most beautiful things in life and a whole lot more....

So lets get to the lecture for the day!

Just in case you are wondering, yes it's quaker oats/oatmeal! That munchy goodness!
And yeah! It's another underrated beautility...

We all love to munch on yummy oats but a lot of us do not know that oats can be used for skin beautifying purposes. I just found this out not too long ago myself! They are so effective for soothing sensitive skin that they can be found in some beauty products these days.
Oats have the ability to calm, soothe and heal the most sensitive skin because of its anti-inflammatory and softening properties. Let's find out just how awesome the oats in your kitchen cupboard are!

Oat bath: If you have sensitive, itchy skin or are suffering from eczema, a 15-minute oat soak in the tub can leave you feeling good as new. Oats can also offer relief for chicken pox infected skin or even itchy insect bites....HOW?...Easy! Take a sheer sock, pour in about 2 cups of oatmeal into the sock and tie the open end to the tap so the water can run through the oats into the bath tub. Squeeze occasionally to get more creamy goodness until you have a tub filled with water. Next... splash around!

Body scrub: The grainy texture of oats makes for an excellent scrub, helps to remove dead skin cells and it has soothing qualities so you know your skin is in good hands.
Mix a cup of oats with water and let it sit for 5 minutes to soften the oats a bit. Scrub your body in circular motions with the softened oats and then rinse with water. This is also an excellent face scrub.

Mask: Oatmeal can also heal and soothe acne -prone skin. It can reduce swelling and soothe the redness.
Use the above scrub on your face and then apply a layer over your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse off and pat your face dry. This can be done weekly to soothe acne.

There are other DIY face masks that can be prepared with oats to help with a number of skin problems but I think that will be discussed in another post, after I have tried and tested them (as your guinea pig nah)
Till then........

Stay beautiful!
